Private Surf Lessons

Who is it for?
Private lessons are for everyone, starting with children as young as 6! These sessions serve as a fast track to surfing, ideal for beginners seeking a quick start or intermediate/advanced surfers aiming to enhance their skills and technique.
Children aged 6 to 11
Tailored for children aged 6 to 11, our Private Surf Lessons prioritize safety while ensuring a fun learning experience for the young ones eager to ride the waves.
Intermediate and advanced surfers
For intermediate and advanced surfers, our lessons encompass various exercises focusing on improving technique, speed, maneuverability, stance, flow, and fitness. This provides surfers with insights into their strengths and weaknesses.

Private Surf Lessons Prices & Packages
What you get:

- 1.5 or 2 hours of personalized surf lessons (duration depends on the type of private lesson)
- Highly qualified instructors
- Optional transport (subject to availability)
All our Surf instructors Are certified by the Portuguese Surf Federation or by ASI (Academy of Surfing Instructors).
* No extra person is allowed on Private Surf Lessons for 1 or 2 pax.
** For a family or friends Private Surf Lesson, every additional person will incur an extra charge.
*** Maximum 4 people per instructor if there are students younger than 12yo. If everyone is older than 12 years there is a maximum of 5 people per instructor.
**** It’s essential that skill levels are similar; otherwise, an additional coach must be requested.
Private Surf Guides
Are you an advanced surfer eager to explore exceptional surf breaks? Our Private Surf Guide package guarantees a thrilling journey, taking you and your friends to the finest waves in the Algarve, offering stunning sceneries and uncrowded lineups. As an added option, we provide a film producer to capture the highlights of your surfing sessions and create a short surfing movie of your holiday.
Our Private Surf Guide offers an authentic surf adventure at the southwestern tip of Europe.
Private Surf guides Prices & Packages
It Includes:
- Explanation of the area, swells, and surf conditions
- Option for 1 big surf session or 2 surf sessions (not lessons)
- Transport to and from the best breaks of the day from the school
- Local surf guide
- Surf equipment is provided if you don’t have your own (Surf Board, Wetsuit, Leash)
- Insurance coverage included
Meeting Point
For Group Lessons:
Freeride Surf School – Hotel Memmo Baleeira, Sagres – every morning, all year at 09H00.
Freeride Beach Hut – Praia da Cordoama, in Vila do Bispo – June to September at 09H30.

Note
At Freeride, we believe in the efficiency of reputable surf schools. Start with our 5-day intensive course for rapid skill enhancement – 3 hours of daily lessons with all necessary gear included. Extensions are available for those seeking a prolonged experience.

Surf Rentals
- We have a variety of surf gear available for convenient rental at Freeride Surf School. You can pick up and deliver the gear at our office in Sagres during regular office hours.
- From June to September, you can directly rent surf gear at Freeride’s Beach Hut at Praia da Cordoama in Vila do Bispo, operational from 09:00 to 18:00.
- Rental rates start from 15€. For more details, reach out to us at info@frsurf.com.
- Kindly be aware that negligence (breakage, damage, loss, or theft) of any provided surf gear will result in a charge equivalent to the total value of the item (ranging from €50 to €500).
