Frequently Asked Questions

How much is a surf lesson in Sagres?

A single 2-hour group surf lesson at FreeRide is around €45 in low season and €55 in high season. Multi-lesson packages bring the per-lesson price down significantly: a 3-lesson pack works out to roughly €40 per lesson, and a 5-lesson pack to around €35.

How much does it cost to rent a surfboard?

Surfboard rental in Sagres typically runs €15–20 per day, with discounts for multi-day rentals (a full week is usually around €70–80). Wetsuit rental is around €10 per day or €40 per week. We carry beginner soft-tops, shortboards, fish, mid-lengths and longboards.

Is everything included in the lesson price?

Yes. Our lesson price always includes the surfboard, a 4/3mm wetsuit, transport from the Sagres meeting point to the beach we choose on the day, full insurance and a certified instructor. You only need a swimsuit, towel, sunscreen and water.

Are surf-and-stay packages cheaper than booking separately?

Almost always, yes. Our 7-night surf-and-stay packages bundle accommodation, daily lessons, equipment and breakfasts at a 15–25% discount versus booking each piece individually. They also save you the logistics of arranging transport and timing.

Do you charge extra for transport to the beach?

No. Beach transport in our school van is included in every lesson and surf-and-stay package. We pick the beach on the day based on swell and wind so you always surf the best spot for your level.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. The price you see at booking is the price you pay. Optional extras like GoPro photo packages or private 1-on-1 coaching are clearly priced separately, and you can add them or skip them.
